Why MSJA?

Program Highlights

Limitless Learning

The academic excellence that the Mount is known for extends throughout the school in all we do. Young women at the Mount are consistently engaged in co-curricular programming—clubs, student activities and societies span the full range of student interest and inspire new passions from service organizations and performance groups to academic interest clubs such as Robotics, honor societies, and much more. The Mount Fine Arts program teaches technique and skill while allowing each students to discover their own uniquely creative voice and our acclaimed Mount Athletics program offers 13 sports that instill qualities of leadership, confidence, sisterhood and strength.

Community Bonds Led by Faith

Following the Sisters of Saint Joseph tradition, students are unifiers who support their peers in all their endeavors. The Mount is a strong and resilient community built with active inclusive love. Daily Advisory time with adult and student leaders provides a space where there is an intentional focus on Academics, Mission, Community and Clubs. Students attend mission-focused and faith-centered retreats throughout their years at the Mount and engage in intentional and engaging Campus Ministry program that embraces all and leads our young women to Serve the Dear Neighbor.

Robust Academics

At the Mount, our dedicated faculty use their expertise and experience in their disciplines to create lasting and limitless learning in the classroom and beyond. Our college-style block schedule with 80 minute classes, provides collaborative, impactful, engaging and flexible teaching and learning for our students and educators. Curricular features such as our Women as Founders Seminar, a mission-aligned course where students select a research project centered around a social issue of personal significance, and an integrated math and science curriculum where teachers collaborate to effectively teach the subjects with an interdisciplinary approach allow for specialized and personalized schedules. We also offer unique courses such as Principles of Engineering and Design, Print and Broadcast Journalism courses and are one of a few schools nationwide that offer both AP Computer Science A and AP Computer Science.

"I left the Mount as a self-aware, confident young woman: ready for college. I returned many years later with a heart to serve. I hope that the work I am doing on the Mount's Board and in my profession proves valuable in the long term and that seeds I have sown will continue to sow, reap a bountiful harvest."
