At Mount Saint Joseph Academy, we believe that every young woman is created with unique
gifts, called to a life of purpose, and capable of making a difference in the world.
Our theme for 2026–2027 — Belong. Believe. Become. — reflects the journey at the heart of a
Mount education. Rooted in the spirituality and tradition of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, these
three words invite every member of our community to discover who she is, whose she is, and
who she is called to become.
Belong.
Before a young woman can truly flourish, she needs to know that she belongs.
At Mount, belonging means being known, valued, welcomed, and recognized for the gifts she
brings. It means creating a community where every young woman knows that her presence
matters and that she does not walk alone.
Inspired by the Sisters of Saint Joseph's call to unity and relationship, we believe that all are one. Belonging is not simply something we receive; it is something we create for one another through kindness, inclusion, compassion, and respect.
Here, she finds her place. Here, she discovers community. Here, she belongs.
Believe.
To believe is to trust in something greater than ourselves — to trust in God's providence, in our
own God-given gifts, and in the possibilities that lie ahead.
At the Mount, young women are encouraged to grow in faith, to ask questions, to take risks, and to discover that they are capable of more than they may yet imagine. Along the way, they encounter teachers, mentors, coaches, classmates, and a community that believes in them, sometimes before they are able to believe in themselves.
We want every young woman to know: I am loved. I am called. I have a purpose.
Become.
A Mount education is ultimately about becoming. It is about discovering who you are, developing your gifts, finding your voice, and responding courageously to God's call. Through academics, faith, leadership, service, the arts, athletics, friendships, and countless opportunities to grow, each young woman is challenged to become the person God created her to be.
As Saint Francis de Sales reminds us, “Be who you are and be that very well.” And as the Sisters of Saint Joseph teach us, “Your call is sublime…become what God dreams for you.” (Maxim 1)
Becoming is not about becoming someone else. It is about becoming more fully who you are — a woman of faith, courage, compassion, integrity, and purpose, ready to serve the dear neighbor without distinction.
Belong. Believe. Become.
Together, these words describe the journey we hope every young woman experiences at Mount Saint Joseph Academy. When she belongs, she discovers her place. When she believes, she discovers her possibility. When she becomes, she discovers her purpose.
And through it all, she is surrounded by a community that walks with her, believes in her, and
calls forth the best that is within her.
This year, we invite every student, educator, alumna, parent, and friend of Mount to embrace the journey:
Belong — in relationship with God and one another and all creation.
Believe — in the God who loves you and in the gifts you have been given.
Become — all that God dreams you can be.
