Major Gifts / Senior Advancement Officer
The Major Gifts / Senior Advancement Officer is a key member of the Advancement team, responsible for managing and growing relationships with major donors to secure financial support for Mount Saint Joseph Academy. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, will focus on identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of leadership, major and planned giving donors, while contributing to the Mount’s overall fundraising strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Major Gift Fundraising
- Manage a portfolio of 150-200 major gift prospects, focusing on individuals with the capacity to make gifts of $5,000 or more.
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to support annual, campaign, and planned giving priorities.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with donors, engaging them through meaningful communications, personal visits, and tailored proposals.
- Make comprehensive asks that integrate support for the Mount Fund (annual fund), campaign priorities, and PA State Tax Credit programs (EITC/OSTC).
- Partner with the CAO to strategically engage key donors and campaign prospects during the private phase of the school’s capital campaign.
- Support grant writing efforts through family foundation research that can increase major gift support to the Mount
- Travel locally and nationally up to 60% of the time. Nights and weekends as needed.
Program Advancement and Management
- PA State Tax Credit Programs: Manage and grow participation in EITC and OSTC programs by educating donors and prospects, ensuring compliance, and stewarding gifts. Develop relationships with BLOCS and other SPEs to maximize program impact.
- Stewardship and Reporting: Oversee the preparation and delivery of detailed stewardship reports for endowed funds. Collaborate with the Advancement team to design a donor stewardship program that recognizes and engages supporters across all giving levels.
- Planned Giving: Establish and lead a robust planned giving program to grow the school’s legacy giving pipeline. Provide education and materials to prospective donors, and create stewardship strategies to ensure sustained engagement.
Collaboration and Leadership
- Work closely with the CAO and Advancement team to ensure alignment of donor engagement strategies with institutional priorities.
- Contribute to strategic planning for the overall Advancement program, identifying areas for growth and innovation.
- Partner with program staff to align donor engagement with programmatic goals and impact stories.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for junior Advancement staff, sharing expertise in donor cultivation and solicitation.
- Collaborate with team members and volunteers to broaden the prospect pipeline and support volunteer committee efforts.
- Other responsibilities as assigned in line with imminent priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong relationship-building, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated success in designing and implementing fundraising programs, including planned giving and stewardship initiatives.
- Familiarity with Pennsylvania’s EITC/OSTC programs.
- Proficiency in donor management systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge) and CRM tools.
- Passion for the mission and values of Mount Saint Joseph Academy.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CFRE certification preferred.
- 5–7 years of professional experience in fundraising (preferably in an education setting), with a strong emphasis on major gift solicitation and donor relationship management.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Prolonged periods standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and computer/technology-use throughout the working period.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds as needed.

Assistant Varsity Lacrosse Coach
Mount Saint Joseph Academy is seeking an Assistant Varsity Lacrosse Coach for a part-time position in the Athletic Department. The successful candidate will help build players’ confidence and skill, and will exhibit a commitment to a positive and inclusive environment that encourages athletic development, teamwork, and personal growth. She/he will effectively interact with all types of audiences, such as school administrators, colleagues, parents, students, and community members to build our reputation at the highest level.

Role and Responsibilities
The assistant coach supports the Head Coach in leading the team’s development by providing high-quality instruction and fostering a positive, athlete-centered team culture. Responsibilities will include:
- Training a team of athletes on a constant basis for the ideal physical condition in lacrosse by using proven methods to help improve technical skill advancement, holistic training and performance, and game-day execution
- Teaching lacrosse rules and regulations to help athletes develop a high level of understanding.
- Monitoring athlete development and well-being, and helping to maintain a safe and high-functioning training environment for both individual and team.
- Working within the direction of and in collaboration with the Head Coach, as well as other athletic staff, to ensure consistency of training, standards, goals, selection, and strategies for the team
- Maintaining standards of performance consistent with the Mount’s goals of personal, academic, and athletic excellence
- Maintaining top quality of team equipment, supplies, facilities, uniforms, and conditioning materials.
- Instilling the values of hard work, determination, resilience, and teamwork
- Reinforcing a strong team culture rooted in the values of the Mount and Mount Athletics program
- Maintaining consistent, proactive communication with the Head Coach and Athletic Director to ensure alignment on program goals, athlete development, team needs, and adherence to departmental policies and expectations.

Schedule
Practices are 5 days/week on campus in Flourtown, PA (weekdays from 3:30/3:45 pm to 5:30/5:45 pm). The team competes in the Athletic Association of Catholic Academies (AACA) Conference and is a member of PIAA District 1.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have, or be working toward, a Bachelor’s degree with previous collegiate playing experience and/or previous coaching experience preferred. Coaches will need to be CPR/First Aid Certified (or the ability to become certified). Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support peer and student-athlete engagement are necessary.
Compensation
Coaches are paid a seasonal stipend.

JV Head Field Hockey Coach
JOB SUMMARY
Mount Saint Joseph Academy, a Roman Catholic, college prep, all-girls academy in Montgomery County, PA, is seeking an innovative and collaborative Field Hockey JV coach for a part-time position in the Athletic Department. The successful candidate will play a key role in training athletes and teams for success in their various athletic pursuits. The candidate will help build young players’ confidence, skill and potential to transform them into self-aware, strong individuals, in sports and in their daily lives. The candidate will effectively interact with all types of audiences such as school administrators, colleagues, parents, students, and community members to build our reputation at the highest level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
All coaches are responsible for ensuring the fun and safe development of our athletes and teams in their chosen sport, understanding that our sports teams represent Mount Saint Joseph Academy (MSJA) in everything they do and everywhere they go. The JV Head Coach supports the Varsity Coach to coordinate the teams’ efforts in training, practices, games, etc. The JV Head Coach assists the Varsity Coach in performing duties including but not limited to those listed below:
- Train a team of athletes on a constant basis for the ideal physical condition in their sport by using proven methods to help improve nutrition, muscle development, athletic skill and mental toughness.
- Teach individuals about everything related to the sport’s rules and regulations to help athletes develop a high level of understanding of their chosen game.
- Create specific physical performance conditioning programs to increase athletic performance, confidence and team winning percentage.
- Evaluate team and individual athletic performance consistently using video, photography, data sheets and other means; address skills improvement during practice sessions.
- Work with other assistant coaches (if assigned) and other staff members to carry out goals and strategies for the team(s).
- Maintain top quality of team equipment, supplies and facilities, such as uniforms, practice equipment, conditioning materials, game balls, fields, indoor game areas or courts. Work with the Head Coach or Athletic Director on any areas of need.
- Report game statistics as required.
- Report any injuries, incidents, or concerns to the school immediately. Follow all protocols and directions for appropriate communication with affected persons (school administration, parents, emergency personnel, etc.).
COMPETENCIES
- Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of the designated sport (rules, regulations, strategy of play, development tactics, safety, etc.)

Assistant Varsity and Freshman/Novice Crew Coaches
Mount Crew is seeking varsity and freshman/novice assistant coaches for the 2025-2026 season.
Role and Responsibilities
The assistant coaches will partner with the Head Coach and/or Head Freshman/Novice Coach in the development of the student-athletes by providing high-quality instruction and fostering a positive, athlete-centered team culture. Responsibilities will include:
- Instructing on-water and land-based practices, with a focus on rowing/coxing fundamentals, technical skill advancement, holistic training and performance, and race execution
- Evaluating team and individual athletic performance, and addressing skill improvement during practice sessions for long-term development
- Monitoring athlete development and well-being, and helping to maintain a safe and high-functioning training environment
- Collaborating across coaching staff to ensure consistency of training, standards, goals, selection, and strategies for the team
- Maintaining standards of performance consistent with the Mount’s goals of personal, academic, and athletic excellence
- Instilling the values of hard work, determination, resilience, and teamwork
- Reinforcing a strong team culture rooted in the values of the Mount and Mount Athletics program
- Maintaining consistent, proactive communication with the Head Coach and Athletic Director to ensure alignment on program goals, athlete development, team needs, and adherence to departmental policies and expectations.
The coach will serve as a positive role model and will represent Mount Saint Joseph Academy with distinction while promoting long-term athlete development, performance improvement, and love for the sport.
Schedule
Practices are 6 days/week at our boathouse on the Schuylkill River in Conshohocken, PA (weekdays from 5:00-7:30 pm and weekend mornings between 8:00-11:30 am). The team competes locally and nationally most weekends from mid-March through mid-June (some travel may be required).
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have, or be working toward, a Bachelor’s degree with previous collegiate rowing experience and/or previous coaching experience preferred. Coaches will need to be CPR/First Aid Certified (or the ability to become certified) and have USRowing Level 1 Coaching Certification (or willingness to become certified). Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support peer and student-athlete engagement are necessary.
Compensation
Coaches are paid a seasonal stipend based on level of commitment, level of responsibility, and level of competitive rowing/coaching experience.
About Mount Crew
Mount Crew has a storied legacy dating back to 1999. Each year, the program supports 70-80 athletes, most of whom start their rowing career in their freshman year at the Mount. Over the past 26 years, the team has competed at the highest levels nationally, claiming 22 SRAA National Championships, 44 Stotesbury Cup victories, and 74 Philadelphia City Championships. The team has taken home the points trophy from the Philadelphia Scholastic Rowing Association 21 of the past 22 years and landed crews in 11 USRowing Youth Nationals grand finals.
