Director of Communications and Marketing
Founded in 1858, Mount Saint Joseph Academy (hereinafter called MSJA), is a Catholic college preparatory school for girls grades 9-12, sponsored by the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia. MSJA seeks a seasoned and strategic communications and marketing practitioner to develop and execute a communications strategy that serves as the foundation for best-in-class constituent relations on behalf of MSJA.
The Director of Communications and Marketing should have experience in integrated communications planning, traditional and digital advertising (print, broadcast, social media, paid search, etc.), collateral development/production, marketing research/data analytics, website administration/analytics, content development and public relations (media relations, crisis management and thought leadership).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop and execute an annual marketing communications strategy that serves to foster best-in-class relations with all MSJA’s key stakeholders – prospective students/parents, current students/parents, alumnae, faculty/staff/administration, alumnae parents, community, friends, donors, etc.
· Develop and execute master brand narrative and key messages for MSJA and ensure its inclusion in all internal and external communication.
· Collaborate actively with President, Principal, Chief Advancement Officer, Director of Enrollment, Athletic Director, Board Chair, and selected Board committees to effectively communicate with key constituencies.
· Execute focus group research and monitor independent school trends and implement key learnings into communications strategies.
· Manage and maintain the departmental budget.
· Oversee/manage all outward-facing school marketing and communications, including but not limited to: school website, school magazine, enrollment marketing collateral, donor collateral, alumnae communication (print and digital), parent communication, student communication and social media channels, to ensure integrity of message, compliance with communication protocol and inclusion of brand voice.
· Execute paid media strategy (print/broadcast advertising, paid Facebook/Instagram content/advertising, out of home advertising, etc.).
· Manage outside vendor partner relationships, such as printers, agencies, photographers, videographers, freelance consultants, etc.
· Serve as a trusted advisor to administration in developing key communications.
· Update crisis communication protocol, serve as lead advisor on any necessary crisis communication needs and actively participate with the administration in the event of a crisis.
· Develop and cultivate relationships with press/media on behalf of MSJA.
· Direct and supervise a Communications and Media Manager.
· Encourage and review user-generated content from students, faculty, staff, alumnae and other key constituencies.
· Develop evaluation metrics/outcomes for communications and enrollment marketing and report on them quarterly.
· Other relevant responsibilities as determined by MSJA.
· This is a full-time, exempt position.
· The hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (nights, weekends, and special events as needed).
QUALIFICATIONS
· Excellent writing skills, including first-person narrative, press releases, website copy, speeches/message points, crisis statements, social media, and newsletter content, etc.
· Excellent public speaking/interpersonal skills, especially for the purpose of being a school ambassador/spokesperson.
· Excellent project management, analytical, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
· Full proficiency in Microsoft Office.
· Strong knowledge of Google Analytics and Facebook Business Manager/Ads Manager.
· Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
· Ability to operate with excellence on a strategic and tactical level (macro/micro).
· Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, journalism, English, or related field.
· Master’s Degree in a related field is preferred.
· 7+ years of applicable experience, preferably in an educational setting.
· Non-profit experience preferred.
· Supervisory experience required.

Principal
The Mount seeks an experienced and visionary educational leader to serve as Principal starting July 1, 2025. As part of the senior administrative team, the Principal will support faculty and lead academic initiatives to advance the school’s mission and goals with clarity and purpose.

Senior Advancement Officer
The Senior Advancement Officer is a key member of the Advancement team, responsible for managing and growing relationships with major donors to secure financial support for Mount Saint Joseph Academy. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, will focus on identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of leadership, major and planned giving donors, while contributing to the Mount’s overall fundraising strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Major Gift Fundraising
- Manage a portfolio of 150-200 major gift prospects, focusing on individuals with the capacity to make gifts of $5,000 or more.
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to support annual, campaign, and planned giving priorities.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with donors, engaging them through meaningful communications, personal visits, and tailored proposals.
- Make comprehensive asks that integrate support for the Mount Fund (annual fund), campaign priorities, and PA State Tax Credit programs (EITC/OSTC).
- Partner with the CAO to strategically engage key donors and campaign prospects during the private phase of the school’s capital campaign.
- Support grant writing efforts through family foundation research that can increase major gift support to the Mount
- Travel locally and nationally up to 60% of the time. Nights and weekends as needed.
Program Advancement and Management
- PA State Tax Credit Programs: Manage and grow participation in EITC and OSTC programs by educating donors and prospects, ensuring compliance, and stewarding gifts. Develop relationships with BLOCS and other SPEs to maximize program impact.
- Stewardship and Reporting: Oversee the preparation and delivery of detailed stewardship reports for endowed funds. Collaborate with the Advancement team to design a donor stewardship program that recognizes and engages supporters across all giving levels.
- Planned Giving: Establish and lead a robust planned giving program to grow the school’s legacy giving pipeline. Provide education and materials to prospective donors, and create stewardship strategies to ensure sustained engagement.
Collaboration and Leadership
- Work closely with the CAO and Advancement team to ensure alignment of donor engagement strategies with institutional priorities.
- Contribute to strategic planning for the overall Advancement program, identifying areas for growth and innovation.
- Partner with program staff to align donor engagement with programmatic goals and impact stories.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for junior Advancement staff, sharing expertise in donor cultivation and solicitation.
- Collaborate with team members and volunteers to broaden the prospect pipeline and support volunteer committee efforts.
- Other responsibilities as assigned in line with imminent priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS

Director of Annual Giving
The Director of Annual Giving is responsible for leading and growing the school's annual giving program, the Mount Fund. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, this role is integral to the Advancement team and focuses on fostering a culture of philanthropy within the Mount community, increasing participation and revenue, and aligning annual giving efforts with the Academy’s mission and strategic priorities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning and Execution
- Develop and execute a comprehensive annual fund strategy to meet participation and revenue goals.
- Lead the rebranding of the Mount Fund to align with the Academy’s mission and priorities.
- Develop strategies to educate donors on the impact of their contributions and the importance of unrestricted giving.
- Segment and analyze donor data to create targeted solicitation and stewardship plans.
- Collaborate with Advancement colleagues to integrate annual fund efforts with broader campaign and major gift initiatives.
Leadership Gift Solicitation and Portfolio Management
- Manage a portfolio of prospects, cultivating relationships and soliciting leadership gifts up to $5,000.
- Implement management system to identify and engage potential donors to expand the Mount Fund’s leadership giving base.
- Collaborate with Advancement colleagues to ensure a coordinated approach to donor engagement and solicitation.
Giving Efforts and Collaboration
- Oversee the planning and execution of all annual appeals, including Fall and Spring Appeals, Giving Days, and End-of-Year Appeals.
- Partner with the Communications team to craft engaging appeal campaigns across multiple channels (direct mail, email, social media, and phone outreach).
- Develop and execute the Senior Parent Gift initiative and new parent giving effort, supported by the Director of Engagement.
- Collaborate with the Director of Advancement Operations and Alumnae Engagement on reunion giving initiatives.
- Develop faculty and staff giving strategies and stewardship efforts.
- Work closely with the Senior Advancement Officer and Chief Advancement Officer to coordinate and support leadership and major gift solicitations for the Mount Fund.
- Support grant writing efforts through public, government and corporate foundation research that can increase support to the Mount Fund.
- Other responsibilities as assigned in line with imminent priorities
Stewardship and Communication
- Create compelling stewardship materials and ensure timely acknowledgment of gifts.
- Partner with the Communications team to develop messaging that inspires giving and highlights the impact of the Mount Fund.
- Collaborate with the Director of Engagement to organize donor appreciation events and recognition initiatives.
Data Management

Track and analyze donor data to inform solicitation strategies and measure progress toward goals.

Junior Varsity Lacrosse Coach
JOB SUMMARY
Mount Saint Joseph Academy, a Roman Catholic, college prep, all-girls academy in Montgomery County, PA, is seeking an innovative and collaborative assistant JV lacrosse coach for a part-time position in the Athletic Department. The successful candidate will play a key role in training athletes and teams for success. He/she will help build players’ confidence and skill, and will exhibit a commitment to a positive and inclusive environment that encourages athletic development, teamwork, and personal growth. He/she will effectively interact with all types of audiences such as school administrators, colleagues, parents, students, and community members to build our reputation at the highest level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
All coaches are responsible for ensuring the fun and safe development of our athletes and teams, understanding that our sports teams represent Mount Saint Joseph Academy (MSJA) in everything they do and everywhere they go. Assistant Coaches support Head Coaches to coordinate the teams’ efforts in training, practices, games, etc. Assist the Head Coach in performing duties including but not limited to those listed below:
- Train a team of athletes on a constant basis for the ideal physical condition in their sport by using proven methods to help improve nutrition, muscle development, athletic skill and mental toughness.
- Teach individuals about everything related to the sport’s rules and regulations to help athletes develop a high level of understanding of their chosen game.
- Create specific physical performance conditioning programs to increase athletic performance, confidence and team winning percentage.
- Evaluate team and individual athletic performance consistently using video, photography, data sheets and other means; address skills improvement during practice sessions.
- Work with other coaches and staff members to carry out goals and strategies for the team(s).
- Maintain top quality of team equipment, supplies, and facilities, such as uniforms, practice equipment, conditioning materials, game balls, fields, indoor game areas or courts. Work with the Head Coach or Athletic Director on any areas of need.
- Report game statistics as required.
- Report any injuries, incidents, or concerns to the school immediately. Follow all protocols and directions for appropriate communication with affected persons (school administration, parents, emergency personnel, etc.).
- Understand confidentiality of sensitive information and high standard of integrity.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- As required by the necessities of instructing sport.
