The philosophy of the Library Media Center at Mount Saint Joseph Academy reflects the philosophy and mission statement of the school. The Library Media Center facilitates and supports the total instructional program of the school while encouraging students to broaden and expand their learning through the use of modern technology as well as traditional resources. The librarians strongly encourage the values of reading and the appropriate use of research materials, both print and non-print, which can help to develop the potential of young women in preparation of the future.

NO food or drink are permitted in the library at any time. Students are asked to respect other students during their time in the library, especially during lunches. If no work is being completed, students will be asked to leave.
Students may borrow books for two weeks and renew them with the exception of an item that is in large demand. A fine of $1.00 per day is charged on any Reference materials and inter-library loan books that are returned late. There are no fines for regular overdue books. As a reminder, weekly overdue notices will be sent to homerooms. All 3rd notices are issued with a detention note. If an item is lost or damaged, the student will be responsible for its replacement.
Computers and Printers
Desktop Apple computers are available for student use. In addition, two carts of MacBook laptops are available provided a visiting class does not need them. There is one color printer in the library. Please see the Network Administrator or a librarian to access the color printer. Please see them to print your documents.
Saving work on the Library Computers
It is highly recommended that students save their work to their school network folders because the network is backed-up every night. Additionally, students are encouraged to save documents to their Google Drive account for easy access at home.
