Creating Memories Across Spain: A Journey of Learning, Adventure, and Sisterhood

In case you missed it! This year, our seniors and chaperones had an unforgettable and educational adventure abroad in Spain, thanks to ACIS Tours! The journey began in Barcelona, where the Mounties kicked off their exploration by visiting the breathtaking Basilica de la Sagrada Familia, a masterpiece by architect Antoni Gaudí. They also had the chance to bike through the heart of the city, taking in the vibrant streets and stunning architecture on an exciting and immersive bike tour. Another group had the special opportunity to celebrate Palm Sunday at Sagrat Cor de Jesús, embracing the beauty and significance of the occasion.

The adventure continued in Córdoba, where the group soaked in the rich cultural sights before embarking on a guided tour of the Alhambra and Generalife Gardens, two of Spain’s most iconic landmarks. In a true cultural immersion, students were introduced to flamenco dance, learning the passionate art form as they bonded with their sisters and shuffled their way through the lively rhythms and graceful movements of this traditional dance.

In Madrid, the group deepened their exploration of Spanish culture and history with a walking tour through the city’s historic streets. They enjoyed a special, personal tour of the world-renowned Museo del Prado, where they experienced some of the finest art in the world. Later in the afternoon, they visited a bull ranch, where they took a well-deserved break and enjoyed a delicious lunch. Following the meal, they delved into the rich art and history of bullfighting, gaining a deeper understanding of this complex Spanish tradition.

Before heading home, the group wrapped up their unforgettable journey with a visit to Toledo, where they explored the historic Toledo Gothic Cathedral, Synagogue, and Church of Santo Tomé, each steeped in centuries of history. The trip concluded with a hands-on Spanish cooking lesson, where students had the chance to learn how to prepare traditional Spanish dishes, leaving them with not only memories but also new skills to bring back home.

What an incredible experience, filled with memories, learning, and the spirit of sisterhood!
