Mount St. Joseph Academy announces the appointment of Sue Boyer as head varsity field hockey coach, effective fall 2018.

With more than a decade of coaching experience, Sue’s previous positions included coaching at Immaculata University, West Chester Rustin High, and Penncrest High. Sue played forward/midfield at Ursinus College.

“It is with great pride that I welcome Sue Boyer to join the Mount community as head coach of the women’s field hockey program,” said Kathleen Brabson, SSJ, President of the Mount.

Sue is a United States Field Hockey Association-certified Level II Coach. For more than 12 years, she has served as head coach and site director at Philadelphia Futures, which, according to their website, is "a non-profit organization that provides Philadelphia's low-income, first-generation-to-college students with the tools, resources, and opportunities necessary for admission to and success in college.

Additionally, she has coached for several club teams and holds a Level I Umpire Certification.

"It is my honor and pleasure to join the long-standing field hockey tradition at the Mount," Boyer says. "I look forward to working with this group of female scholar-athletes who share my dedication and commitment to the game of field hockey. It is my hope to add my 'magic touch' to the field hockey program at the Mount."

Mount Athletics Director Janet Columbro is looking forward to welcoming Boyer to both the athletics program and campus.

"I am very excited for Sue to take the helm of the Mount field hockey program," Columbro says. "Along with experience and knowledge of field hockey, Sue will bring her passion for the game. I look forward to a great season in the fall."
