Mount Celebrates Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
The Mount will celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month throughout the month from September 15 to October 15. Activities will include interactive programming that honors Hispanic and Latinx culture, history, and traditions. Thus far, Avery Holmes '23 gave a presentation on various identity terms related to the Hispanic and Latinx community; guests who identify as Hispanic or Latinx lectured students, including a talk by Mrs. Elisangela Mond, mother of senior Daphne Mond; "Famous Fúbolers & Soccer Moments, Soccer Chants in Hispanic & Latin American Soccer" with Mr. Nayden & Sra. Bornancini; Spanish Spelling Bee with Sra. Eakins & Sra. Hoffman; a salsa and bachata dance lesson with Ms. Rupert & Mrs. Toth; Hispanic & Latinx Trivia Kahoot with Sra. Rodolico; Spanish Wordle; and more.
All of these activities took place during the Mount's advisory block, for which Ms. Rupert has worked to cultivate intentional content and programming to engage students in co-curricular learning.
