A New Era Begins: Inside the Athletic Center Ribbon Cutting
On September 24, Mount Saint Joseph Academy officially opened the doors to its new Athletic Center — a milestone more than a year and a half in the making.
In her remarks at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, Sister Charlene reflected on the vision that shaped the project, from groundbreaking to completion, and the Mount community whose generosity made it possible. She recognized the Board of Directors, the Sisters of Saint Joseph, school leadership and staff, and project partners EDiS and Metcalfe, before turning her attention to the students gathered that day.
"This is where you will challenge yourselves and one another," she said. "Where hard work will pay off. Where friendships and memories will be made. Where our community will come together. This is where you will rise."
With that, Board Chair Jeff Kohler, Campaign Chair Kate Shields, and student leadership representatives joined Sister Charlene at the ribbon — and together with the full Mount community, counted down to cut it.

The celebration isn't over yet. Mark your calendar for Friday, October 23, when we open the Athletic Center to the entire Mount community for our public Grand Opening — featuring volleyball games, a robotics demonstration, a jazz band performance, a mascot meet & greet, food trucks, and more.
