Mount's "Les Miserables" Production Earns Philadelphia Independence Awards Nominations

The Mount has earned five nominations from the prestigious Philadelphia Independence Awards for its fall 2017 production of Les Misérables.

According to their website, the Independence Awards were "created by high school theater teachers and directors for the purpose of sharing and awarding outstanding student theater performances and productions in the Philadelphia region." Any public, private, or parochial Pennsylvania high school within a 20 mile radius of City Hall may enter for nomination consideration. Enrollment for the 2017-2018 season was limited to 15 schools.

Best Female Vocalist
Audrey Trullinger '18

Best Ensemble
The cast of Les Misérables

Best Song
"One Day More"

Male students from other schools were also nominated. Jack Gimpel was nominated for Best Male Vocalist and Neil Devlin was nominated in the category of Best Featured Actor.

Cast members from the production will attend a formal awards ceremony at Temple University's Performing Arts Center on May 21st.
