Mount Saint Joseph Academy and teacher Margaret Toth have earned the College Board's AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award for expanding young women’s access to both AP Computer Science A and AP Computer Science Principles. This award acknowledges schools for their work toward equal gender representation during the 2021-22 school year. The Mount is 1 of 64 schools nation-wide that offered both AP Computer Science A and AP Computer Science Principles last academic year. Only two other schools in Pennsylvania offered both courses.
The award aims to recognize leadership in diversifying computer science education, which prepares female students for high-paying, in-demand jobs of the future and provides them the opportunity to help solve some of society's most challenging problems. Congratulations to Mrs. Toth for teaching and bringing both of these courses to the Mount and to the students who have taken AP CSA and AP CSP and represent us so proudly!
