Solar Eclipse Captivates The Mount Community

On Monday, April 8 the Mount welcomed back to school many smiling faces after a relaxing spring break. However, the excitement didn't stop there; the community was thrilled about the highly anticipated solar eclipse in the afternoon. 

During the 4th block, teachers brought their students outside to view the beginning of the eclipse. After school, the community gathered at the stadium to watch the celestial event that peaked at 3:23 pm, even though the clouds briefly obscured the view. The warm weather, return to school, and the community gathering with our stylish ISO-certified glasses made the moment memorable. 

After the solar eclipse, the Mount collected the glasses to be donated to Latin American schools so that school communities can view the solar eclipse safely when it occurs in their region on August 2024.
