Welcome Ms. Gina Beren, Dean of Student Life and Formation!
Congratulations to Ms. Gina Beren! We welcome her as our new Dean of Student Life and Formation. Ms. Beren has been an educator for 22 years, 11 of those years at the Mount. For the past several years she has served as the Social Studies Department Chair at MSJA and brings a wealth of both teaching and administrative experience to this role. Ms. Beren has eagerly and skillfully taken on this leadership position and looks forward to a year of focusing on unity with the students.
When asked about what excites her about the upcoming school year she explains, "I am so excited to take on this new role at the Mount. Dean of Student Life and Formation affords me to opportunity to share my gifts and talents to help Mount students navigate their MSJA experience. With eyes firmly focused on Unity and Reconciliation, I look forward to developing new relationships with the student body, working with my colleagues to enhance the experience of each Mountie, and celebrating the rich history of the Sisters of St. Joseph."
Ms. Beren was born and raised in Philadelphia. Attended LaSalle University where she doubled majored in Secondary Education and History. She continued her education at St. Joseph's University and earned a Masters degree in Educational Leadership. Previously, before the Mount, Ms. Beren served as a Social Studies teacher and Dean of Students at Saints John Neumann and Maria Goretti Catholic High School in South Philadelphia. While this is her 12th year at the Mount, she is very excited to step back into an administrative role. She loves trivia games, and her door is always open if you need a snack or want to talk about history!
