Welcome Ms. Nicole West, Executive Director of Mission and Inclusion!
The Mount is pleased to announce a new position—The Executive Director of Mission and Inclusion, to support and strengthen our mission-driven, student-centered environment. The Mount’s Mission Statement, informed by the mission and teachings of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, provides a strong foundation for fostering a diverse, inclusive and respectful school community in which all members can experience a sense of belonging. We are challenged to love and serve God and the dear neighbor with joy, and to respond with hope to the problems of contemporary life. Our concern for social justice helps to advance an awareness of individual differences within our community and empowers us to serve others with dignity and respect.
Ms. Nicole West, a Mount alumna from the class of 1987, will serve as the first Executive Director of Mission and Inclusion. Ms. West has served nineteen years as an educator in both the Wissahickon and Upper Dublin School Districts and fourteen years as an administrator in Wissahickon. In both experiences, equity, inclusion and belonging have been the centerpiece of her work, She serves on the Board of Trustees at Ancillae-Assumpta Academy as well as the Mount’s Board Committee for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Special Education from LaSalle University and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania.
Ms. West has a strong desire to further enhance the great academic, social, emotional, and personal growth of students at the Mount as they prepare to enter the world as global citizens. In addition, she will collaborate to support her colleagues who work daily with our students. Her work will capitalize on the ways that inclusivity initiatives, in light of the mission, will strengthen the school and the broader community.
We look forward to welcoming Ms. West for the 2024-2025 academic year!
