Ms. Amy Balcer, Director of College & School Counseling
Mrs. Amy Balcer holds a Master’s degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from Chestnut Hill College. She joined Mount Saint Joseph Academy in 2009 and became Director of College & School Counseling in 2012. As Director, Amy oversees the overall advisement of students freshman through senior years, as well as the Mount’s standardized testing programs. Amy has a passion for working with young adults and assisting them in the college process as well as educational and personal goal setting. Amy of NACAC, PACAC, ASCA, and has traveled both nationally and internationally visiting a wide range of colleges and universities. Her most recent professional development includes being a member of both The University of Pittsburgh and Furman University High School Advisory Boards. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her children Isabella, Jesse Jr., and Angelina.

Mrs. Lisa Boyle, College Counselor

Lisa Boyle is a College Counselor entering her tenth year at The Mount. She is passionate about the college and career planning process, and working directly with students to help them find their best fit. Prior to Mount, Mrs. Boyle gained nine years of experience in higher education with background from several local universities in admissions & financial aid, residence life, academic advising and career counseling. Mrs. Boyle holds a M.S. in Counseling with PA Secondary School Counseling certification from West Chester University. In addition to working closely with students on college planning and the application process, Mrs. Boyle teaches the College & Career Exploration sophomore rotation course, and assists her sophomores and juniors with course selection each year. Mrs. Boyle greatly enjoys getting to know each of her students, while working with families to support next steps in educational and personal growth.

Ms. Mary Dever, School Counselor

We welcome Mary Dever as our school counselor. Mary received her bachelor's degree in Urban Studies with minors in Gender, Sexuality, & Women’s Studies as well as Urban Education from the University of Pennsylvania, followed by a Masters in Social Work from Bryn Mawr College. She has a wide range of experience in the mental health field, including individual psychotherapy in college and outpatient settings, social services for people living with disabilities, and refugee resettlement work. Mary is committed to supporting the holistic growth of students academically, socially, and emotionally. She believes in the power of the school counselor/student relationship as a tool for individual growth and societal change, and she is energized by the idea of working with students as they navigate the intersecting systems of academia, higher education, and mental health. Aside from her passion for mental health, she loves ice cream and her two cats!

Mr. Jonathan Fabrey, School Counselor
Jonathan Fabrey is a School Counselor entering his seventh year at Mount, and twentieth year in education. Jonathan earned his Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Education, with a concentration in Psychology from West Chester University, and holds a Master of Science in Counseling and Clinical Health Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Jonathan has worked as a high school teacher, college instructor, and a therapist for adolescents and families in an outpatient setting. Jonathan strives to build positive, meaningful relationships that support the whole student.

Ms. Mary-Kate Kaminski, College Counselor
Mary-Kate Kaminski is thrilled to be joining the Mount Saint Joseph Academy community as a College Counselor. Mary-Kate has worked in admissions and enrollment management across secondary and higher education for the past seven years. Most recently, she worked as the Assistant Director of Dual Enrollment at Bucks County Community College. Mary-Kate believes that the college admissions process is the opportunity for every student to embrace their individual story, strengths, talents and desires for growth to find the best fit for the next step in their educational journey. She is passionate about all-girls education. Mary-Kate received her BA in History from St. Joseph's University and an MFA in Creative Writing from Rosemont College. After graduating college, Mary-Kate spent six months working at The Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World®.
