About the New Athletic Center
The new light filled Athletic Center will not only promote health and wellness but also enhance our students’ educational experience and co-curricular opportunities. From sports games to alumnae gatherings, dances and open houses, this new center will play a central role in hosting various school events, making it a flexible and essential space for our community.
Highlights of the New Athletic Center
- A light filled gym that is 1.5 times the size of current facilities
- Over 600 seats - enough for the entire Mount community to come together under one roof
- A state of the art weight room that is two-times-larger
- Modern locker rooms

May 8, 2025 marked a historic moment in the life of Mount Saint Joseph Academy as we ceremonially broke ground on a new Athletic Center—the first bold step in a long-range campus vision rooted in the Mount’s mission and momentum.

Athletic Center Construction Update
Preliminary work is underway to prepare the building site for our new Athletic Center! After a week and a half of activity, significant progress is already visible across campus.
Current Progress:
- Site preparation continues on the former tennis court area
- Extensive topsoil movement and excavation for the sediment basin
- New driveway preparation in progress
- Corridor connection established through the auditorium's exterior wall to link the Athletic Center with the existing school building
Construction equipment is now positioned on site, and the transformation is truly beginning to take shape. There's no going back now—our vision is becoming reality!
September 26, 2025
After completing all necessary approvals, permitting, and soil analysis, construction is now underway. Site preparation has begun with surveying and sediment controls installed. Portions of the driveway asphalt have been removed and perimeter fencing is in place.
Excavation has started, including digging for the permanent sediment basin beyond the tennis courts. Excavated material is being temporarily stored in the far field. Our construction partner, EDiS, is exploring options to accelerate the timeline and make up for earlier delays.
Interior work has also commenced where the new Athletic Center will connect to the existing building. Some demolition is occurring between the training rooms and auditorium backstage, with temporary walls installed to maintain safety. Access will be fully restored before upcoming auditorium events.
